Photos of me to prove Iโm a real person
<aside> ๐ Also on other platforms as I prefer free and open source software as a software engineer
Actually did way more than this because I was surfing at many friendโs of friendโs place, and sometimes I was invited to stay after hitchhiking. Also have hosted a bunch of friends not on any platforms

<aside> ๐ I'd love to get to know you over a meal or drink. My treat of course!
Pretty much down for anything, can also tell you about my stories and experiences of surfing/hitching, and the journeys that led me to meet multiple strangers whom now are friends
I love animals even though I myself cannot find time to adopt/raise one, and Iโm totally fine with sleeping with them on your couch. If you have a dog I would be down to bring them out for a walk or hike, have done that multiple times already
Sometimes I bring presents as well!

<aside> ๐ Request no more than 2 weeks in advance please! because I may not know when Iโm free
And if it's your first time surfing, I recommend to at least fill up your profile before requesting any hosts :)
Basically, there are many hosts in each city. You chose some for a reason, because you think you will get along well with him/her, otherwise youโd have gone to a hostel or hotel instead. On the the hand, I accepted you because I think we vibe. Otherwise, why would I host?
Hosting can be exhausting and I had some guests who are not interested in the true spirit of couchsurfing, so I pick my guests carefully now
I certainly expect interaction, but that does not mean that I want to spend all day with you. I might have work, and you have exploring to do. Heck, if you tried to spend all your time in my home with me, I'd drag you out to do something together. If thereโs something you want to do, feel free to invite me :)
If you read this, add โchicken riceโ to your request

<aside> ๐ Greetings travelers, I'm Zhao from Singapore, a small country (not China) in South East Asia but with a melting pot of cultures. Raised by my Singaporean Dad and Malaysian Mom, I speak English and Chinese natively, and some Teochew dialect. I have learnt bits and pieces of languages during my travels but they are definitely not as good as before.
I consider myself as a pretty easygoing guy, always open for an adventure, meeting new people and learning about new cultures/languages. I love slow travel, couchsurfing and really getting to know the locals, language and culture. Most of the time I love spontaneity and just going with the flow as many times it has been an unforgettable experience.
Usually I backpack with a sleep system (hammock) and camping equipment so I can be anywhere.
I love collecting and listening to songs during my travels, to listen and relieve those memories after I'm back in my home country. So, please recommend me some!
Looking forward to meeting you and sharing stories from our travels!

<aside> โ Started couchsurfing when I first arrived in Romania, Cluj and had such an unforgettable experience. That led me to spontaneously hitchhike to Budapest and there I met a circle of friends around my age who welcomes travelers from all over the world, and now I wish to replicate that where I live
I think after traveling for so long, for me the people that I meet means so much more than the place I visit, because those are truly the memorable experiences and may even be lifelong connections.
